WORLD SUPERLAP CHALLENGE

03/03/2010

Plazmaman and Team Fernandez is continuing to burn the midnight oil in preparation for their assault on the World Time Attack Challenge in May.

Starting with an ex-V8 Supercar shell, the 5 litre engine is now long gone and now sitting in its place is a 4 litre XR6 turbo engine and a Holinger sequential 6 speed gearbox.

With a full Plazmaman turbo inlet and cooling setup, the goal is 900 to 1000 horsepower while still retaining throttle response. When you consider that a

V8 Supercar makes about 650hp and runs on a full slick tyre (Time Attack cars run on R-spec tyres) you can see that with more power and less grip this has the making of one seriously exciting vehicle indeed and certainly, if everything goes to plan, something that will take the world on - Australian style!

ALSO WORTH MENTIONING ..

With all the chatter about the Pro Class it is worth mentioning that the action in the Open class will also be hotter than ever.

This year will see the turbo S2000 that completely dominated Clubsprint class in 2008 that Plazmaman entered , now stepping up to open class with John Boston once again behind the wheel. With a full rebuild now behind it that included a new wide body kit and a set of lightweight Advan rims, a 2.2 litre engine full of Toda internals making close to 550 rwhp this will certainly be one to watch when the flag drops on 21st and 22nd May. This vehicle still runs the same Pro series intercooler that it won class honours in 08 .

The 2010 even will feature a large array of vehicles running PLAZMAMAN intercoolers , such as the Insight EVO9 that took out class honiurs in 09 , Unique autosports 300zx monster and many other top level vehicles .
